The operations that you can execute are separated in two - configuration of Database Services and database servers, and configuration of backend server hosts and their bundles
An RM system can be configured with the help of the RM console. In particular, the system administrator can execute the operations related to system configuration in the System Configuration area of the console (select Dashboard -> System Configuration or click the dashboard button).

System Configuration Access Restrictions

The console restricts the set of system configuration operations depending on the user account, used for login to RM - only the system user is allowed to view and modify the configuration of an RM system.

Configuration Modes

The System Configuration area has two modes - runtime mode and system configuration mode.

Runtime Mode

This is the default mode of the console System Configuration area. It shows the current persistent system configuration of the connected RM system

Only changes that can take place runtime (without the need to reboot the system) are allowed.

The operations available in runtime mode:

  • Viewing the available backend server hosts together with statistics about their operation as well as host configuration classified by host roles.
  • Deploying, updating and removing standalone bundles on backend hosts.
  • Activating/deactivating deployed backend bundle packages.
  • Enabling optional backend bundles.
  • Viewing the available Database Services and their current configurations.
  • Modifying bundle configurations runtime.
  • Viewing defined networks and their network filters, as well as hosts distribution among these networks and defined host network URLs.
  • Viewing logs about user logins as well as the users currently logged into the system.

System Configuration Mode

In this mode you can modify the basic configuration of the system - add new database servers and backend hosts, change Database Service configurations, deploy bundle packages, etc.

Applying the new system configuration results in rebooting the entire RM system, including all its hosts. 


To switch from Runtime Mode to System Configuration Mode, click on the Configure System toolbar button which will open a System Configuration dialog box where you can perform the relevant operations.
The modify operations available in this mode are:

  • Adding backend server hosts including remote access servers and management servers.
  • Configuring the roles of added backend server hosts.
  • Setting the connection URLs of backend server hosts.
  • Configuring the device contexts of management servers.
  • Deploying/updating/removing backend bundle packages.
  • Adding/reconfiguring/removing database servers.
  • Modifying the configurations of available Database Services.
  • Adding new networks and filters to RM.
  • Moving hosts from one network to another.
  • Defining network-specific host URLs.
  • All modifications allowed in runtime mode.


To be able to use the system configuration mode, the console must be connected to the control center (not to a remote access server). If the console is connected to a RAS, on calling the system configuration mode you will be prompted to confirm reconnection to the control center.
