Bosch IoT Device Management - will be discontinued by mid 2024

Edit connection settings

Connections allow the messaging-based integration of other services or applications for the purpose of device integration (e.g. using Bosch IoT Hub) or interaction of business applications with the Bosch IoT Things service.

In contrast to ad hoc connections - that you can establish from you applications using the HTTP or WebSocket APIs - the connections listed in the connections UI are permanent, and managed by the Things service to allow a long-lasting, message-based integration with external systems.

Starting at the Bosch IoT Suite Console, click the Connection entry in the left navigation.

In case it is not there, use the search, and click the star icon to pin it to your navigation bar.

The connections UI opens in a new browser tab, as it is not fully integrated in Bosch IoT Suite Console yet.

  • To create a new connection click Add.

  • To read an existing connection click its name in the left list of connections.

  • To edit a connection click its name in the left list of connections > Edit > perform the necessary changes and > Save.

Further hints

Please make sure, that your connections are active. This is indicated with the plug symbol.

When a managed connection is opened or gracefully closed, the Things service can send a respective announcement. The configuration option per connection to activate/deactivate publishing of such announcements is available in the Connections/Integrations UI tab as well as via API.

The Things service also provides payload mapping functionality. Thus, you can map incoming messages to Eclipse Ditto conform payload and vice versa.
