Bosch IoT Remote Manager Documentation

Overview

The State Variable History feature allows collection of state variable values of control units for extended periods of time. This is especially useful in the case of sensor data retrieved from a gateway (for example through the FIM or HDM modules for the Bosch IoT Gateway Software). The collected data can be further analyzed and used for a lot of activities:

  • investigating problems;

  • improving software and hardware based on usage data;

  • machine learning and so on.

The State Variable History uses the system database for storing all the recorded data as well as the recording requests.

By default no history data is being collected.

The State Variable History feature allows adding/removing history requests as well as retrieving the recorded data and clearing it from the database.

Recording requests can be added in three distinct ways:

  1. Selecting a group node – this adds a recording request for this group which will handle events for all devices in the group and optionally for all descendants of the group.

  2. Selecting a device node – this adds a recording request for a control unit belonging to this device limiting the possible control unit types to the ones provided on the device.

  3. Selecting a control unit node – this adds a recording request for the concrete control unit.
