Bosch IoT Device Management - will be discontinued by mid 2024

2021-03-10 - Bosch IoT Manager and Rollouts updates

Recently, there have been improvements in Bosch IoT Manager and Bosch IoT Rollouts, which are part of Bosch IoT Device Management.

Bosch IoT Manager

The new release of Bosch IoT Manager comes with the following improvements:

  • Implemented a recovery mechanism for session event subscriptions
Previously, in particular cases new session subscriptions could not be properly populated to all nodes and could remain inconsistent for an indefinite time.
Due to the current change, session event subscriptions are now much more reliable. Even though reliability of session event subscriptions is not guaranteed, event loss has been reduced to a minimum.

  • Introduced further measures to prevent system overload
Queue limits have been introduced in order to prevent system overload. For this reason you may receive an error code 429 when a specific limit has been reached.

  • Enhanced processing of event triggers for mass management rules
This optimization is achieved by maintaining backpressure in the Mass Management Engine component.

  • Improved performance of Things event processing

  • New indexing option to be used when creating a namespace
There is now a new 'Comfort' indexing option which is recommended for namespaces of subscriptions for Bosch IoT Device Management.

Bosch IoT Rollouts

The recent releases of Bosch IoT Rollouts come with the following improvements:

  • displayName attribute is used to display target's name

Bug fixes

  • Fixed: device count did not match the number of targets coming from a target query filter

  • Fixed: Tags were not visible on Deployment View when created on Bosch IoT Manager side

  • Fixed: "Things quota exceeded" was not communicated to user

  • Fixed: wrong user name was used in AuditLogging for created-by attribute of targets

  • Optimized target table scrolling
