Search for tasks
To search for a particular mass management task, enter the Task Management perspective. Once there, locate the Search Tasks view on the upper left-hand side of the screen, where you will see the three available task search options, namely a Search bar, and two expandable areas - Advanced Search and Quick Views. Each of them is described in more details below.
Using the search bar
To find a task through the Search bar, enter the name of the relevant task - or any part of its name - in it and press Enter or click the icon on the left end of the input field. The results matching your search will appear in the Search result area to the right.
To clear the entered search data, use the rubber icon on the right end of the Search bar.
Pressing Enter on an empty Search bar will list all your existing tasks in the Search result area.
In the Search result area, there is an additional search field to the right, which allows you to search only within the already displayed results.
Using the advanced search
The Advanced Search option, which you will find right below the Search bar, allows you to filter and find tasks which satisfy one or several criteria simultaneously.
For example, you can see all tasks which were launched before or after a certain date, or finished before or after a certain date, which dates can be selected from the calendar icon to the right.
Using the quick views
The Quick Views option, available right under the Advanced Search area, provides you with shortcuts for the most commonly used task search criteria - execution and state.
The expandable area called By Execution allows you to list all tasks (All Tasks), all tasks which have been launched by a rule (All Rule Tasks), and all 'free-standing' tasks which you have launched separately and have no connection to a rule (All Free Tasks).
The expandable area called By State allows you to list all tasks which have a particular execution state such as all tasks which are currently running (Running Tasks), all tasks whose execution has finished (Finished Tasks), and all tasks whose execution has not started and is not expected to start in the future (Failed to Launch Tasks).
Search for rules
The process and the available options for searching for rules is similar to those described for tasks above.
To search for a particular mass management rule, enter the Rule Management perspective. Once there, locate the Search Rules view on the upper left-hand side of the screen, where you will see the three available rule search options, namely a Search bar, and two expandable areas - Advanced Search and Quick Views. How to use each of them is described in more details below.
Using the search bar
Enter the name or part of the name of a rule in the Search bar, and you will see the matching results in the Search Result area to the right (see screenshot below).
Using the advanced search
The expandable Advanced Search area allows you to search for rules which match any or a combination of the following criteria. Check the relevant field(s) so that you can enter the search details as explained below.
Rule State - select one of the possible rule states from the drop-down menu to the right, namely Enabled, Disabled, Defined and Failed to Еnable.
State Detail - here you may search for rules with a particular State Description by entering the relevant description.
Involved Count - here you may indicate the number of devices involved in the last task launched by the rule, i.e. if you enter 100 for example, all rules whose last task involved 100 devices will appear in the 'Search Result' area
Errors Count - here you may indicate the number of devices for which the execution of the action script finished with an error in the last task triggered by the rule
Warnings Count - here you may indicate the number of devices for which the execution of the action script finished with a warning in the last task triggered by the rule
Successes Count - here you may indicate the number of devices for which the execution of the action script finished successfully in the last task triggered by the rule
Rule ID - enter the system-assigned rule ID or any part of it
Rule Name - enter the rule name or any part of it
Action Script - enter the rule action script or any part of it
Times Triggered - this filter allows you to search for rules which have been triggered a particular number of times
Please, consider that for both tasks and rules, the search criteria entered through the Search bar and the Advanced Search option, are treated cumulatively until erased or unchecked.
Using the quick views
The expandable Quick Views area contains shortcuts to popular rule search filters. With one click you can list all rules, or all rules with a particular state - Defined, Enabled, Disabled, and Failed to enable. Each rule state is marked with a different color, which will help you distinguish rules with different states in a mixed state list.
