Restrictions related to the software update management layer
Please consider the following restrictions related to the software update management layer.
Service plan
The following resource constraints depend on the service plan.

*) When deleting an entity, it is only deleted, if it is not referenced by another entity. However, if it is referenced, it will be marked as deleted. The respective number does not include the number of entities that are marked as deleted. The maximum number, that includes these entities, is restricted to 10.000.

Limitations in functionality
The software update management layer - as part of Bosch IoT Device Management - does not support the Direct Device Integration API. This API is only offered for Bosch IoT Rollouts service instances.
The software update management layer - as part of Bosch IoT Device Management - does not support the Device Management Federation API. This API is only offered for Bosch IoT Rollouts service instances.
User Management for the software update management layer is done within Bosch IoT Suite Portal Teams.
The functionality of the software update layer might slightly differ in comparison to the Bosch IoT Rollouts standalone version.
Here is how:
Creating and deleting targets via the Deployment View is not supported.
Filtering the target table in the Deployment View by target status does currently not produce reliable results.
Tag color and descriptions are not supported.
Requesting controller attributes and displaying controller attributes is not supported. Device-details can be seen in the user interfaces, e.g. Bosch IoT Suite Console or Bosch IoT Things UI.
Reducing visibility of single devices by restricting them via policy entries to single users will produce unpredictable results.
