Bosch IoT Device Management

To work through this tutorial, you will need:

  • An Octopus board
The Octopus board is a small board based on a ESP8266 Chip that can be programmed e.g. using the Arduino IDE.
You can buy it e.g. in the Tindie shop.
There are several editions of the board. You can use any edition for this tutorial and don't need the Bosch IoT Suite edition.

  • Arduino IDE - find details later at Step 2 - Configure the Octopus

  • A USB cable to connect the board to your PC

  • A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network within range of the device

  • A web browser that is up to date and does not block cookies

  • An email address that you can use to register a Bosch-ID user account

  • A Bosch IoT Device Management instance. See Getting started.
